OK.......finally getting back to work.

I got the fuse back......Name was painted over and it looks flawless.

Ordered the wood for the motor box

Got a nice carbon fiber wing tube and socket....saving lots of weight there.

Wings should arrive next week.

I got my wings back....they look great.

Cut out the wood templates for the motor box

Same for the landing gear.

I also found some rusteolum paint that matched the fuse pretty good for the gear (they were more orange than red)

I installed the stab CF tube in the plane and installed the tailwheel.

I should have some pics soon

Thinking around Xmas time she should be ready for the air (minus the motor)

Looks like a pretty good airplane. How much does it weight out of the box? Post some pics of the building.

never weighed it out of the box........I'm not a guy who is stuck on weight. I'm sure It'll be less than my 35% edge and that thing flies awesome.

Pics coming this weekend.

I am looking for a good 3W106 though.

Well I've been super busy with work and the wife complaining about life in general as well as me. (go figure)

I actually did a little work on the bird.

-Installed the tailwheel, but need to install the tail wheel supports inside
-Installed the stab tub
-cut out the rudder foam (need to cut the wood to replace the foam and bevel)
-drilled the landing gear for screws and found red paint to match airframe......gear are currently kinda orange
-cut out motor box peices and landing gear plates/formers
-glued motor mount to airframe and put motor box together
-got my ED ignition kill/sullivan smoke pump/gas tanks/extensions/rx
-still need 6 8611a's
-got my DS811 for throttle

I'm so far off my timeline......but I figure another month of good work and it should be close. I've got the next 2weeks off of work.

I still need a good 3W106 used if anyone has one for sale?

Ok, on my Su-26 I've got the motorbox 90% built. I can't remember how you measure in the 3 degrees of right thrust. I know the right side of the box is cut shorter but how much?

Anyone help?

Did this 30% cost $1199.00, or was I looking at the wrong plane?

That was the orginal cost.......I didn't pay close to that though. Since he has gotten them the company (aero-fzd) has gone out of business. He only had 2 left.......red/white and blue/white.

Buyrc.com was selling them at a discounted price to move inventory out.......I chose the red one for price and I like red better than the dark blue

I believe the wing tube is 2inch diamter.....I'd have to measure the phenolic though.

Thanks for the information about the wing tube diameter. I am making the same size model aeroplane. My style to make the plane is little different, I make everything by myself. I don't use any kits or drawings. But it's hard to know how strong I must make all the parts. That's why the your information is very important.

Thanks
