RE: Hotter glowplug than 8 on OS 91 FX.
The OS A3 is hotter than the 8. If you want even hotter, put in a type F or any other four stroke plug. But check to be sure the piston doesn't hit it. I don't know if that's likely to be a problem but it should be checked.
There are literally hundreds of existing "which plug" questions on RCU. In every one of them, one person's favorite gets totally trashed by someone else. The only real answer is to get a bunch of plugs and see which one works best for you.

The Enya #3 is the hottest plug I know of. It's a 2 cycle plug but runs well in four strokes also. It's almost as expensive as a F plug.

Jim,
The Enya #3 is rated as a hot glow-plug, but it doesn't seem hotter than the OS #8, K&B-1L, Etc..
It does run well in four-strokes, since it tends to retain heat better than other two-stroke plugs, but I don't think it is actually hotter.
The OS 3 is the hottest plug OS makes for two-strokes, although I have never seen it run well in a four-stroke engine.
I have, however, seen this plug cause a .91FX to detonate endlessly... This engine needs a colder rated glow plug.

If cold temps are making starting difficult then increase the input voltage, thats the only way to make a plug glow more intensely. Some brands do glow brighter than others with a given voltage. A single cell ni-cad starter is below the rated voltage for nearly all plugs made today. The Radio South glow heater will make a plug glow nearly white hot. If your trying to keep an engine running with an overly rich mixture, then idle bars do the best job. A "HOT" plug exposes the platinum element to the combustion chamber more than a "COLD" plug does. Many cold plugs use heavier wire for the element and place it in a smaller protective cavity so it will last at high rpms with nitro and tuned pipes. I have always found that an idle bar plug is more forgiving while getting the carb tuned, after that any plug will work with little difference between the best and worst.

Maybe he's running no-nitro fuel. Maybe he's running no fuel. Hard to say. <GGG>
get Robert Stack on the phone....we've got ourselves an unsolved mystery here.

I run an OS 91fx on 0% nitro fuel using an Enya #3 plug with excellent results.
I know of some people who run 10% nitro with an extra head gasket to prevent detonation in this engine.

I told you that my club is in the mountain.
That's why i nedd a more hot glowplug that the type 8.
Also i need this glowplug approximately in idle, because i want to run my engine rich, enough.
So,you prefer an OS A3 glowplug?

Had the same problem as Stas yesterday. Carb was set right . As soon as the nistarter was taken off, the motor would quit. Put a hot Rossi plug in it and ran fine. As Stas says, it's the cold weather causing the problem. I forget the # of the plug. Bummer
