Spektrum DX3 connections

Hi Guys I need your help. I'm installing a new Spektrum DX3 system but I've no idea which way round the battery and servo plugs should go. The manual is no help and the plugs fit either way round.....help please

The black wire goes on the outside, the colored wires go toward the middle.
