3/16" vs. 1/4" AXLES ON A 30LB PLANE
I was going to use 3/16" axles on my new plane but several people told me I should go with 1/4" because they said the smaller size is more likely to bend and screw up wheel pants etc. What do you guys think?
Also, the instructions say to mount the gear with 4, 10-32 screws, does this seem heavy enough? I'm not trying to build a tank, but I don't want to mess it up because I bounced a landing.

RE: 3/16" vs. 1/4" AXLES ON A 30LB PLANE
My DS B17 (138" ) 50lb has 1/4" axles. They don't look too large, I almost feel like they should be a bit bigger so go with the 1/4" and then no worries. 4 - #10 screws are plenty big for mounting, my mains have 4 6-32's on the back plate.

I've never even heard of a 3/16" axle bending.
If you are nervous get some PSP Manufacturing Titanium axles. I have some and they are very strong and 1/2 the weight of Dubro (though they are about $10 more).
