Hey people. I have a nitro stampede i got about six years ago. I used it some when it was new, and have not been able to get it to start since. It has been stored a few times just because it won't work. Anyway I'm giving it one last try and if it doesnt work I'm gonna give it to someone I know.

Well my noob question is this. I have the electric starter. If I pull out the glow plug while leaving the wire attached, and I press the button on the starter, should I be able to see the plug glowing.

I hope changing the plug, which is something ive done before, is what it takes to get it running because im not going to put more money into it.
One more thing I forgot. When I hold the front end off the ground and try to turn the wheels left or right with the control, they only turn about half way and I hear this buzzing/clicking sound. Is the steering screwed up too? I don't know how though because it's never used.

the new plug might work depends how it was stored for all those years hopfully it had afterrun oil in it otherwise go ahead and give it to someone you know like you said couse it requires some $ to run these cars and if you dont want to put any money into it then hmm you can eighter marshal at the races or be a good spectator still cool we are short on those[8D]

the sound might be coming from your servo maybe it got stripped gears if its clicking and buzzing,i say you might have to spend some money but not that much and honestly after so many years being stored depending how might require some fixing or replacing hopefully not but good luck on your mission i hope you get to run it at least once

It will not cost too much to get rolling again.
Did you get all the fuel out of the engine and put oil in before you stored the car, if not the engine is probably scrap (new bearings), nitro fuel is highly corrosive to steel. If you didnt dont read on. A new plug will cost less than 10 dollars a servo 15/20 and you are back on the road, grass, dirt or whatever you use it for.(sounds like you have already given up though)good luck. shame i dont live a few thousand miles closer you could have given it to me he he

Thanks for the info. What do you mean by the engine is probably scrap (new bearings)? I went and got another glow plug which i checked works well. And I have been trying to start it some more. Won't start but here's a little info. When I take plug out, press the starter button, and pump the fuel thru, the piston throws it out so I know its getting to the plug. I also know that the plug is getting juice because I saw it glow. When I try and start it though, all I hear is the engine turning over. It sounds like there is no fuel but when I take off the air filter I can see it in there and it actually squirts out. Should I give up for good on this engine and just get another one? ty ty

might be to rich and is loading up try leaning out the needles a little if that doesnt work then trow it against the wall to get the agravation out then get a new one [8D]
