Default Source for Carbon Fiber Sleeves

Who sells the carbon fiber sleeves that slip over a 4-40 linkage rod to strengthen them?

Hi Keith ,
Try CST Composite Structrual Technoligies. I will dig up their # if you need.

Hi Keith,

Our 5/32 rods have a nice fit over a 4-40 rod. The do not fit over the threaded part of the rod however.

Thanks Art. I was looking to slide them over 4-40 all thread. How secure are the titanium rod ends if I go that route? Is there any chance they would pull out under load?

Thanks Tim. I went there, but they really don't have any info I could find to direct me to the rods that fit over the 4-40 all thread.

The CF rods with titanium inserts work perfectly. I use them & we have sold thousands with ZERO complaints. If properly assembled, they are flawless.

Our 3/16" tubes fit well over the 4-40 thread, if you want to go that route. Same web page as above, different pull down selection.

Keith,

I for one will vouch for the carbon push-rod system that Art offers. They are very easy to make up, and super strong. I simply wrapped the rod with masking tape at the cut line, and cut the rod on a band-saw with a 1/8" fine tooth blade. Clean up the inside of the rod with denatured alcohol, mix a slurry of JB Weld and coated the inside of the rod and the titanium barbed end with the mix, and inserted into the rod. Wipe the excess that ooze's out, and let set to cure and your done.

I was apprehensive about the system at first, but after doing some pull test, I am convinced that the rod ends are there to stay.
