Default can u use a onroad engine 4 off road

i was wondering if you can use a on road engine for off road use
whats the difference in the two types?
what would the harm be?
i want to put a "Trinity/Sirio .12 Size Standard Racing On-Road Car Engine" in a rc 10 gt and use it for racing and warmup ONLY
thanks

Of course you can...........I see that same engine in a number of GT's..... The throttle/ brake linkage can be a bit tricky but it will be fine

The difference between on and off-road .12-.15 size engines is usually a slide carb for on and a rotary for off. In .21 sizes, the on road engines have a larger carb for better high end power.

Aparently someone in marketing doesn't think the smooth throttle response of a slide carb is good for offroad... Isn't that what we're all looking for? Smooth throttle response?

well its not that they dont want to give us a slide its off-roads such as the gt are mostly designed for rotary carbs. beside with off road its not entirely about smoot throttle its about the way the throttle is used. if you're on and off the trottle you want a slide if you're just bashing you want a rotary. racing is both of those rough jumps and some easy throttling.
