FACT- The RB TM323 is a good engine.

Just break it in using the traxxas method. Use 15/36 gearing. No real problems with it. It holds a very stable tune.

break in with heat cycle or traxxas method. When I ran mine I used MIP clutch - 16t CB and 38 spur. The carb likes to leak, getting the carb adjusted correctly (angles, throw, etc) for full throttle AND return throttle is a PITA. Watch the backplate - leaks after awhile...mine went out around 2 gallons...I will NOT get another (good motor while it lasted)

mine has had one issue and one only. after about 5-6 tanks i started to notice that when i pushed the button on my jump starter the engine wadnt' turnin over at all. i cleaned OWB and shaft, inspected backplate gears all that and it turned out to be that the stock starter shaft warped. the OWB wouldnt grab it at all. i was told by another TM323 user that they had the same prob. and they showed me there way around it which is to use the 2.5R starter shaft by dremeling out the notch that goes on the conrod to fit the 323. works great and havnt had problems since. mine runs perfect, hardly ever needs to be tuned, tunes super easy when i do need to ( carb is really sensative which i love, barely tweak it and your good) plenty of power, i run 16/36 and still wheelie alot. standrd ratio. i love mine. i think going to the hot bodies jump start was the best thing i have ever done to my revo aside from the tm323. i use blue thunder 20%, TRX 3232 or Mccoy MC59's. i prefer TRX 3232's though. i do a little of everything when i break-in motors. has lasted 3 gallons and still like new compression. i should get another 10-12.

my engine I bought second-hand for $100. The guy I bought it from used the WOT method for breaking the engine in. It has run 1 gallon in total now. I run it with original gearing, but now I ran it a few times I noticed that the front wheels barely touch the ground, so I'm gonna switch to 16-38.
Few things I noticed: 1. the carbslidelinkage is very hard to adjust so tkhat the slide will open fully. 2. When the fueltank is half empty the engine runs lean 3 the original throttle linkage from the Revo doesn't fit properly. I had to install the rod that comes from the servo to the linkage upside down. Otherwise the rod hits the pin on the carbslide where it's grabbed by the linkage. Now the throttle returnspring doesn't fit also. I use a rubber band which is wrapped around the carbslide so that it is pushed back.

Here's a pic of the engine in the stat that I bought it....The cooling head has seen a lot of tarmac....

and here in the revo...

Heres Some pics of my Revo with the RB TM323, Had it in for 3 days now, broke it in using traxxas recommendations, Custom made wheelie bar was a must because I flipped it once breaking it in and scratched the head (im pissed). Im using the 15t clutch but i also have a 14t for it, no need for it really, it wheelies easy, though im still running it a little rich for a few more tanks. The RB instructions tell you to switch your controller to 70/30 to get the correct carb opening. Had to adjust the slide collar on the throttle linkage and it runs great using all the original linkage and springs.
