Santa is bringing me one of these for x-mas (well actually, the FedEx guy will bring it tomorrow, but he's Santa to me!!) and I was wondering about any building and setup tips you all may have...Do the landing gear blocks need to be reinforced?

recently got a 40 super sportster kit but still in box i had one 10 years before and loved it. hopefully will start building this winter & will put either a YS63 or 70 Surpass II in it. balsa is pretty heavy but will do a lot of cutouts and put rudder and elevator servos in back of plane.

Go with the YS63. The OS70 is awful heavy, some 2.5 ounces more than the YS63 or the Saito 72 I had in my ARF. Even with the lighter Saito I had to put my 2 ounce AAA 720mah nimh battery under the stab and it still flew noseheavy. I cant imagine how the heavy OS would balance.

And make sure to take advantage of the YS pressure fuel system and put the tank back on the CG.

I figure with a YS63, the tank on the CG and the battery and RX in back of fuse under the wing bolt plate you would only need to put the rudder servo in the tail for perfect to slight tail heavy balance.
