I have an odd question ?
what material is used for turbine exhaust ducts ? the reason i ask is that i wanted to build a sort-of-VTOL aircraft, it would be huge, and i wanted a pair of turbines for lift and a pair for foward flight. It is my own design and I have the duct work figured out , I just wanted to know what material i should use for the exhaust ducting and exit shroud

ECU UNIT
Thinking this would have to be a custom programed to control and monitor 4 turbines at once. Reliability might be an issue here.
ECU would have to be very sensitive to monitor thrust output/rpm to make sure at least the vertical turbines were producing identical thrust.
Sounds nice...any pics of your plan.

I have an odd question ?
vario makes a special gyro for 4 pont ccpm swashplates. basically the gyro controlls 4 servos to move the swashplate up and down and cyclic controll .... i can see one of these being used to connect to the ECUs, (all 4, just like servos for the swashplate controll)
the cyclic gyro would then controll the 2 axis in the hovering plane. the gyro would add/reduce thrust as necessary to keep the craft at a stable hover .... put another 2 HH gyros between the cyclic and the receiver , and you have a rock solid hold on the hover. ....
give me the $$$ and ill show you how it can work

Well, the gyro is a good idea to start with. But the biggest problem is throttle lagging. All the helicopter use high speed servos to work with gyro. If the turbine throttle can respond in a split of the second. Maybe it might work.
Someday we get there. Just keep on imagine.

ram 1000's , or AMT 1500's ?
which would give better verticale lift for a plane that is 134 "long, and 33"tall and 40"wide ( almost half the length is tail) RAM 1000's, or AMT 1500's ,which is better in the long run, oh ,and the plane is going to weigh 35-40lbs .
