bad basher Savage
Hey all.
Going to buy a Surefire 32 for my Savage X next weekend, and I'm wondering what exhausts work good on the big .28 to .32's. Who's running a .28 plus in their Savage... tell me what you think of the pipes you have tried. I really want to do away with the composite stocker.

RE: bad basher Savage
I like the HPI polished pipe that came on my LE. That pipe seems to make a big difference compared to the plastic pipe on the regular Savage 25.
Just about every other big block powered MT driver at the local track likes the Jammin pipes. I don't really know that much about tuned pipes, but I'd probably try one of the Jammins if I was going to swap, just because so many people I know run them and they look to be good quality.

Got a ribbed HPI pipe to go in my X with yet-to-be-decide-upon engine upgrade. But I hear more and more people saying they hate it. So what's a good tuning pipe in general, for hopefully not TOO much money? The standard HPI non-ribbed alu one like on the LE I guess....

I went with a THS one piece system, and I'm Impressed. A big difference from the composite stocker. On the box it clams to be suited for .25 - .28 engines. It sounds awesome too.
Heres a short vid of it in action:

i have a collari 32 and i run a werks racing pipe which is specially made for .32s. it makes a big difference. you can feel it, it opens the engine up. the stock le pipe is also an option but the werks racing pipe would be best imo. it only cost like 65 bucks.

Well I know it's notta .28 or bigger engine but I'm running the polished HPI ribbed pipe on my WASP .26 and I couldnt ask for anymore power out of the combo. My Savage is near impossible to keep on the ground, it wheelies on demand and alot of the time when you dont want it too, lol.
It runs great off the bottom end and at WOT....

One more vote for the THS pipe.
the nice thing is...I've got this terdnugget kid next door with a loud-piped Mustang 4.6L. Now, since I have the THS pipe on my Savvy X, i can fire it up, and just let it idle and i don't have to hear his craptacular Ragtop Rustang
