Paint Schemes??
Hey Fellas.
Im building a BobCat XL and I'm about to the point I need to start thinking about how I want to paint it.
What are the various ways you come up with a paint scheme??
Lay in bed at night and picture stuff in your mind?
Computer paint program?
I've got quit a bit of inspiration from pics but I just haven t come up with anything I like.
Any more pics out there??
Thanks
Jeremy Smith

Hey Fellas!
Thanks for the replies! David, That is gonna be one wild looking ride man. Yes, Please send me the pic of the completed paint job. I really like the simple lines, not too many hard curves. All done with the walcom..??
The smilely face it too cool. The wheel wells worked out perfect. You probably saw that one coming. I haven't even thought about the bottom!
Thanks again! and Keep em coming.

Paint Schemes??
Buck,
It's nice that those pilot dudes let you mechanics sit in their airplanes every now and then for pictures!!! LOL
Jeremy,
Actually you will get used to taping off curves and it does not take that long. I also try to make the bottom distinctly different from the top.

MS Paint
Hey guys.
I sure appreciate the help. I got into my MS paint and drew up a top view of a BobCat and saved it to help design schemes. I'll be glad to send ya a copy in bmp format if anyone wants one.
With the magnification button you can get real nice lines and do fine detail work.
It took me about 1.5 hours but I've never used the program much.
Thanks again
Jeremy

Ugly or Functional? You make the call
Thanks to JBSmith I was able to make a very simple layout of how I want to paint my bobcat. The colors are inspired by 2 things. My girlfriend and visibility of the aircraft. The yellow and purple are for her, but the bright red will be for visibility. I am by no means a grapic artist or anything so I want honest opinions on my paint scheme.
thanks.
thanks.

Paint Schemes??
Patrick,
Scheme looks good! You might want to think about the yellow and purple on the booms. The Purple stripe will be diffucult to mask around the compound curve at the front of the booms.
Check out this one.

Paint Schemes??
I painted the clear on them while hanging. The fuselage was painted on my Jet Stand. I have a series of ropes, and racks attached to the framework of my overhead door, clothes pegs, coathanger pieces, and wire are used to suspend them.

Snazzy workbench
David
Looks like you need some old pieces of cardboard to get the gun flowin'. Although the bench is looking quite snazzy with the colorful leopard pattern.
Nice work!
