RE: Best 3d prop for DA150
I am using a Biela 30x10 on a DA150 in an MA 37.5% Yak54. This prop is light and stiff and spools up very fast. It gets loud on straights etc. if not exercising throttle control. I know that Mark Trent likes his Mejzlik 30x10 on a DA150 in a Composite-ARF 3.3m Yak55SP, much for the same reason, quick spool up and faster shooting "out of the hole".

I feel like I've tried them all, but for 3D the Prince P-Tip 31X11 is a real stand out IMHO. Its noisy though
on the top-end like most of the good 3D props. chris

I really like a Mejzlik 30x12 on my DA150 with cans for 3D. I still go back to a Mejzlik 32x10 for IMAC flying (smoother speed control and better downline braking).

RE: Best 3d prop for DA150
This isn't directly in relation to the "which prop is best" question but might help in prop choice....not meant to be a hi-jack.
I've got a question for you guys running the Prince Props....I have a friend with one mounted on his carden edge/3W150 and I have flown it twice...from my little bit of experience on the sticks it seems like ALL of the bite is on the lower 1/3 of the stick..once you get above 1/2 throttle it doesn't really make a difference..I don't believe that he is using a throttle curve. Are you guys seeing the same thing and are you using a throttle curve to improve the 'feel' of it.
I was at Mark Trent's house last night picking up my Mejzlik 32x10 and he told me about another guy with a H9 Ultimate/da150 that tried the Mejzlik 30x10 and liked it.....I think his reasoning with using the 30x10 is with the heavier airplane it lets the prop work a little more and acceleration is improved...I'm putting the 32x10 on a JTEC Extra 300/DA150 which is a big plane (125"ws, about same as a 3.1M CA). After I get some time on the engine and get a feel for it I am going to try a 30x10 also. Be careful as you will eat through the fuel even more with the 30x10 as you are in the throttle much more. Mark gets 13 minutes out of a 64oz tank. But he is also pulling around a 47lb (dry) plane.

dave,
i agree that most of the bite is down low which is probably why it's so good. i never got used to the 31x11's like the other guys..i still prefer the 32x10 prince...i have a couple 31x11's ..anyone wanna trade? i had no idea he was using 64 oz in 13 minutes that's about 4.9 oz PER MINUTE !!!.... that poor motor <G>

Hey x3D, Dale Morgan might want to buy one of them off of you later in the summer if you want to sell one.....depends if he gets an Aerotech Edge.....Do you remember what Frosty had on that Carden Edge that he traded to Dale and Cody? is it the 31" or 32"
