build a bat ?
ok big problem just bought a 100 wat soldering gun and trying to build a new bat
100 wats should be plenty right for some reason its not melting the solder to my bats
actuall it works on the + side of the bats but when trying to do the - side it wont melt to the bats
anyone have any ideas

The neg side is a bigger surface to heat so it'll take longer to heat. Also, rough up the surface with some sandpaper and be sure that it's a clean surface, be sure the iron tip is clean and tinned well. A bigger tip will transfer a bit more heat too, something like a chisel tip as opposed to a pointed one.

im using a solder gun its got a big tip bigger than my iron ive left it on to a point where the bat wraping is starting to melt off and i dont want that ive used a dremmel tool with a wire brush bit to rough it up
so im kinda lost
im actually haveing better luck with my 30 wat iron but i bought the gun cause i thought it would work better since it heats faster
gueess im just gonna have to use my iron
it seems like when i attach it to the neg side the gun cut out and stops heating
