Default FINALLY I COULD BE BOTHERED TO DO IT LOL. **EDIT 56K BEWARE**

Well here she is, after a long awaited appearance i thought i would put a new post about her as i did'nt want to sideline KLIFF's post about THE DARK SIDE.

Facts:

she is a year and four month old.
she has had five engines in her. "TART" lol
and has travelled the world with me. OK maybe not but i take her everywhere in the car lol.
she has been reborn (stripped) 9 times since having her and replaced every screws, bolts, anything worn and bearings.

Mods:

Red pushrods Traxxas ones
Red shox socks
Custom Vermillion Red Anodized chassis
Springs inbetween the brake pads to stop them sticking
Fuel tubing on brake rod for a harder bite
Mugen MBX5 wing and mount with a custom aluminium mounting plate
Hitec HS945MG Ultra Torque steering servo
Steering mod
Currently running Fullforce bearings in her
Billet Aluminium shock rod ends NEW ERA
Billet Aluminum Spring Retainers NEW ERA
Front Bulkhead Mount 3 RACING
Revo Throttle Mixer Arm Silver 3 RACING not installed

Standard Pipe that i sandblasted and then polished
..........
......
and i still probably missed something out lol

Radio:

Sanwa Gemini II TX/RX
Ofna Failsafe
Hitec 945MG steering
Traxxas 2055 Throttle
Ofna 1400 Battery

Engine:

"DARK SIDE" Picco .26 Max
Revo Standard Header
" " Polished Pipe
GS Racing Coupler
15/36 Gearing
Standard Ratio

Now for the photos!!!

Nice clean truck i only had the steeing servo in when pictures were took.

Closer look at the Shox socks, notice the carbon plate wher the steering servo used to be.

Sanwa TX the easiest controller in the world to set you truck up with, i love it. And this is coming from a guy who loves steering wheel TX's.

And another

My wheels

Picco .26 MAX, i love this engine beats its predecessor Picco .21.

And another lol.

Here we have the whole lot ready to be fitted

A look at the engine fitted in the truck. yes that filter looks huge i got the extra pre filter as an extra.

And here we have it the last picure cause im boring you now the whole truck minus electrics.

i am currently waiting on a four shoe clutch coming as the stock Revo clutch doesnt seem to last too long.

hope use enjoy and any feedback whether good or bad is welcome.

i will upload more pics when i get my shell back from the sprayers(my friend is douing it as he has an Airbrush.

cheers

new update, here is my shell only halfway done it looks great IMO. cant wait to finish it off.

she does'nt actually weigh that much but when i got her all done up i will take her to my work and get her done on the digital scales.

speeds i reckon are in the high 40's maybe, i could figure it out but the charts for doing it are a mind boggle.

all i know about my truck is that when i floor it it is on its back and when im going WOT it takes a good 30 feet or so to stop it lol.

Thanks TRICK, if i were to go back to stock wkeels my truck would be majorly light, then i would probably have to downgrade on my engine as the picco would be overkill lol, which im DEF not doing. im going to add a picture of what my shell is looking like the now but remember im only half way through it.

Yeah, thanks, that's my little corner...mine and the guys, that is. Got some really good mods, always out looking for info, as opposed to B/S. Not that we don't fart around, we do....but we try to stay up to date with factual posts, links, and experiences.

Looking VERY smart Red! Bet it goes as good , if not better than it looks. Whats the thinking/ benefits of mounting the single steering servo on the right?
I`ve got a 945 too but was thinking of putting it on the left and mounting a 2200Mah AA rx pack up front on the right hand side, keeping more weight over the front wheels? Not sure yet though. Bought another Revo so I`ve something to play with whilst I wait for parts for the 1st one, dropped the P2 into it for a trial run, tranny must have been week, cos it only took about 5 mins to pop and I hadn`t got it tuned right by then either. Nice, lol! The way it going I`m very tempted to buy a .26 Max for my no.1 Revo as its getting the best I can afford lavished on it, all be it slowly.

What kind of body is that? It does not look like a proline. The windows look cool sweeping back.

How do you like the big joes? I had a set of them but I sold them I didn't like them one bit plus they are very heavy. Do you race or just bash? I guess it really depends on the track you run on if you race but they would not hook up on my track at all. They are pretty good for bashing tho.

Smugmaxx i put the steering servo on the right as i was going to put the throttle servo in the left hand steering servo position, but then i opted for the carbon throttle mount so i put it in the right so it wasnt too cluttered on the left hand side of the truck. Will say that when i had the picco P2 in my truck that is was very hard to tune and getting new parts for the engine was very difficult so that is why i opted for the .26, and trust me you couldnt go wrong lol.

Warted the shell is a Concepts Revo body that i got From http://www.rchopups.co.uk, the boy that owns the online shop is great, Rich, any problems and he will sort you out.

Porsche i dont race, apart fromthe odd drag down at my local BMX track with my mates. be them very heavy the Picco halls them around as if they were a pair of Bowties lol, the engine is great wheelies anytime i want and top speed is perfect any faster and it would be overkill. i enjoy the Big Joes because i originally had them on a set of Velocity 6's and i put them in the oven to get the tyres off and i over cooked them and the tyres are alot softer now and they seem to grab onto anything.

all be it i am thinkign about getting two chassis and cutting an welding them at my work with a one inch rear extension but i dont know there is just so much that i still want to do but i might take a break and just enjoy what i have the now and fix it when i demolish it lol.

Well I can't speak for Redrevo2006, but I've been a mechanic pretty much al my life. Now, due to a medical retirement, I find myself unable to work like I once could, on what I once did. But I enjoy working on these MT's. So I pretty much consider them as a "job." And in that frame of mind, I strive to find out everything I can....I test, I experiment, I modify, I bash, and I've built a racer for an as yet undetermined driver.
I'm far from rich, as my fixed income is only a partial amount of what I once earned, but what I do gives me a thorough enjoyment of the hobby, and I see no way that anyone your post was directed at could take it in anyway but a "flame or a bash." But it is an open forum, and you are entitled to your opinion....

i agree with kliff. im a student so to me that would be a waste, becuase i need money for other things, but i would LOVE to be able to afford it. When i can afford it, make no mistake i'm gonna build the baddest truck ever. some people spend their money in restaurants, jewellery, etc which i consider more of a waste. what fun can you get out of a rolex?

well i have been into rc trucks, cars, buggies, helis..........etc for as long as i can remember and this is what i do. i dont want to flame cause i dont want this post shut down, but, was there really any need to come out with the comment you made, bottom line mate my truck, my cash and my time so go rob a grocery store or something. What i find really embarassing on your behalf is that you have just told me my truck is a waste of money and you post this on an rc site with a post count of 650 after telling me its a waste.

I loved the Revo when i first got it, but as time goes on you always want better or more. The same goes for everything cash, education, women (lol), it is our human perogative to be like that and you criticise me for indulging myself.

Lets drop it as it is but i Hop-Up my truck so it is custom, i aint no drag builder or propulsion engineer i am a simple REVVHEAD that loves speed and my truck is MY truck no-one else owns the exact same truck, that is the whole point of having a custom truck no mater how much money i spend on it, it is my baby!!!!!

Hey KLIFF love the paint job especially the flames round the cooling head exit, the colour to blows me away.

One thing i did notice was that you trimmed with the EASY-PEEL still on, i can never do it this way cause it aways ends up catching on the blade for cutting and i find it easier to see a straight line without it on aswell, but anyway good job.

i have just won another J-Concepts Illusion body of Ebay anyone have any ideas on what i should paint on it??????

Thanks RR, I've been doing the blends and fades since the slot car years....back in the '60's.....quick and easy....just thought I'd try the flames too, and kinda like the effect myself.

As for the peel off, I "score" the body with a hobby knife, then "break" it on the score line, and finish with a drum sander on the dremel.

As for what to suggest......man please! Just go with your imagination.....it's all been great so far, improvise, adapt, and overcome....and if all that fails dazzle 'em with brilliance....LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you been over here yet? http://nitroobsession.proboards79.com/index.cgi Man we got some stuff starting you won't beleive RC Tractor pulling with MULTI 33cc engines!, Rock Crawling, 'lectric and NITRO....for the real HARD CORE!

Turning out to be a real Outlaw site.....
