Help me decide...My mind is going to explode
I cannot decide what truck to get next, and I need some help.
Situation: I have an onroad HPI RS4 3, and a trashed Tmaxx2.5 (Missing screws, blown motor, destroyed shocks...) I am going on a camping trip with friends/family to a lake and we are all bringing our RC's. I want to buy a new truck and break it in before the trip and have a reliable fun RC.
Wants:
Good/decent handling (I hate how the Tmaxx handles, If I turn I roll...)
Decent Ground clearance ( I will not be climbing over rocks, but I do want to be able to hit gravel, sand, and jumps
1/8scale is preferable. I can do 1/10 if needed.
reliability and ability to hold a tune.
500 Out the door cost. Kit or RTR
Not as importatnt
Acceleration/Speed. I think anything new is pretty quick these days. I can alwasy upgrade later.
1speed/2speed doesnt matter.
NO reverse
My initial thoughts were a REVO, MT2 18ss kit, then a Hellfire, and even maybe a savage X. I am concerned the Savage will handle like my Tmaxx does. I do not like traxxas or the design of the Tmaxx. The bulkhead and shock towers seem so weak to me, and its annoying to work on. I keep looking at truggys but they are either too much or I read bad things about the more affordable ones (XTM Mammoth ST)
Let me hear your suggestions.

I really dont want to go with traxxas...I think they are overpriced and kinda cheap feeling. But thanks for the input.

If you're gonna bash I'd say Savage all the freakin way! The Savage X is the newest one, and all of the Savages won't let you down. Just look at Savage vids and you'll see how crazy they are. If you wanna go on the expensive side, you can get an LST/LST2. They come with an awesome radio, stock, and have great performance too. I don't have either of these trucks, but I'm just goin off of what I see in the forums. Good luck!

IDK how the new savvy X handles but the old ones weren't any better than a maxx. REVO's are nice all rounders. If you can find a good price, I would try a CEN Nemesis/Genesis, or a team losi LST2. They are big brutes with good quality build and big power engines.

hey go savay or hell i have both hell is more $ but lowpro and savy is more rugged with more upgrades posible, a revo is also good but like they say its a max so... well thats all you have to say about them
ps the savvy x has a lowered center of gravity ie better handling
