Dates for this year's Dixie/Utah Jet Rally??

Do we even know for sure that it's on ?
There was some talk before this year's meet, that this could very well be the last meet there (something about the city wanting to take the runway over again ?).
Conversely, I also heard that whatever plans were in place for the venue, there were various lawsuits in progress that might string things out for a while longer, which might in turn allow us a couple more years use of the location. (I sure hope so)
The above is all hearsay - I don't have any firm info. Hopefully someone who has more factual info can pitch in here...

Hi Gordon. Yes, now I remember hearing that. I hope they can find an alternate venue if the old airport layout becomes "unavailable". I did speak to one of the club members today and he didn't mention anything about the event being cancelled. He mentioned that he thought it would be the third weekend in May. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Hi Spence,
Yes ther will be a Dixie Jet rally in 2003 at the same place! The first weekend in May , Friday Thru Sunday and I will be sending out more info as the time comes closer. I have been negotiating for a new site with the city and our club should have a AAA field for 2004. Hope this info helps and we appreciate your interest.

I'm booking my time off work, booking the hotels etc., so want to be sure that this preliminary info is accurate.

Dixie Jet Rally
Gordon and all interested: Yes we are having the Dixie Jet Rally this year on May 2- 3- 4th 2003. We still do not know about next year but come and enjoy this great site fly your jets and have some good times with a lot of great jet modelers.

Dan Thats great most of us from Colorado are planning on being there some time thursday the 1st. We always enjoy your jet rally and have lots of fun flying our birds. Hope all is well with everyone over there in St.George .

Anyway, things will probably be different since I'm flying Jetcat this year !
(Having said that, that means that the pressure to perform is on now ... so if my Jetcat's crap out on me this year, like my 500 did last year, Messr's Huhn, Wilcox et al will never hear the end of it !
All opportunities for ragging & leg pulling are filed away for reference for a very long time.)So, Bob - before you mail me my 160, you might wanna make sure it's perfect !

Yeah - that was Chris - I was just the "designated driver" that day, as we visited every hardware store in San Jose and then Livermore, looking for 10-32 set screws for holding on his Bandit wings. I told him I had some CA and duct tape that would work just as well, but he seemed unconvinced.
Shouldn't be a problem from now on though - I got Chris a bag of 100 wing bolts from microfasteners.com - and I got myself a bag too, just in case Chris forgets to bring his !
