Default Which is better plastic for making parts, phenolic or lexan?

I received 2 small sheets of plastic in the mail that a guy at a plastic manufacture so kindly sent to me for just shipping! They are 3/8 inch thick and one is lexan, and the other is phenolic which is fiber reinforced. I decided to try the lexan first to make a front a-arm, and I took a small scrap piece and wacked it with a 2 pound sledge and it just compressed it! It didn't show any signs of fractures, it just flatened it. Just thought I would see what anyone thought about this.
