1'st Tune: Low RPM stall, limited RPM, 2'ed limited
Hi, My Name is Cory
I have a new HPI Savage X 4.1, this is my first Nitro RC, i have tuned 2 strokes before but never a nitro RC, I understand the function of the High Speed, Low Speed, and idle.
But using my heat meter to tune to the proper AFR, the car has drastic changes in running performance from day 2 day,
I had the car hitting second gear and have great off the line and WOT. the next day it would fire up, run over rich and have sudden stalls followed by a loud pop, much like a back fire, air would build in the fuel line wich i figure would result from the backfire through the engine.
the car will have a hard time running without throttle...will die whenever it chooses..never runs for longer then 10mins without cuttin out.
i know a change in weather will have a large affect on how the car runs, i am just looking to find a way that i can tune my car to hit second..run without stalling for a full tank..and stay within a safe heat range..
it could be allot to ask, but i dont see why this car could not run like a well tuned 2 stroke if all is right..im sure once i learn to set it i wont have any problems, but at the moment i have no experience tuning a nitro RC and could use a hand with how i should start the inital tune.
Thanks
