Under 2400. and yes you can. You can inflict damage though. If youre shaft locks you might not even notice it.

It's best to use a drill with an adjustable clutch, set the drill's clutch one click above where it wont turn the cars engine, that way if you have fuel lock the drill wont break your engine. also use the drill in reverse setting and on high speed. i'm sure any drill with a clutch will do the job.

Yea, I used a 18v Dewalt on one of my other nitros for a while. It worked good, but it would do alot of damage if you flooded the motor or something because you couldn't even tell.

yeah........ be VERY CAREFUL
my roto sh*tted on me after it didn't even start to spin the motor
but i broke a starter shaft by using a drill that was too powerful
i'd recomend calling hpi and getting another roto, selling it, and using that $ to buy a pullstart...MUCH EASIER then roto

I have started my STS with a drill that turned at 1100 rpm's in a pinch. But like McKiney said make sure it has a clutch, and set it one click above not turning the motor over at all.

Exactly what he said. I've used my 19volt Craftsman cordless drill to start my Savage for years now.
