Center of Gravity on ohio rc extra 300L
Does anyone know where is the CG located on a 25% ohio rc extra 300L? any suggestions would help!

start on the spar. If you want to 3d it, then fly and adjust the CG to how it flies. Roll it inverted and go hands off, if it dives its nose heavy, and vice versa.

Do you mean the 23%(72" span) Ohio R/C Extra 300L? I don't believe they ever made a 25%. If so my plans show the balance point between 4" and 4 1/2" on the plans.

Mark- I'm not really sure what the scale of this kit but the kit that I have was the last version of the extra 300L before they went out of business. They lengthen the wings to 74 inches and they made it a two piece wing. I will try this (4 - 4 1/2 from the LE), and see if it works.
Do you still fly your extra? what size engine do you have on it? how's the vertical? I'm modifiying the control surface (large!) so that I can do 3d.

Harold, I also have the plans for the 72" version. They call 4 in back from the leading edge "sport" and 4 1/2 back "expert".
I was worried about my flying skills when I first flew this plane, so I added 8 oz of nose weight to get the CG in the middle of the range. After 2 flights, I removed the weight altogether, which moved it to about 4 3/4 back, and I think it still needs to move farther back. Set it where it feels right, like 3dbatixkid said, but I wouldn't worry too much about keeping it forward.

Actually mine is not finished yet, I've been working on it sporadically for about a year and a half. Just needs the turtle deck sheeting put on to be ready to cover. I keep getting side tracked on other projects, currently a 31% Extra 300l. My Ohio RC is going to have a YS 1.20, looks like it should come out at 9 1/2 to 10 pounds at the most.

Mark- I've been working on my extra now for about 3 weekends and I still have a long way to go. I still need to sheet the body and the wings, plus I have to modify the elerons. here's a picture of the plane.

Looks good, wish I had the later version with the plug in wings.....easier to transport. What engine are you going to use?

I'm thinking of using a saito 180, I've been told that it has unlimited vertical with this engine! Just the way I want it. The plug in wings really does help, especially when I'm using a small car.

If it's as light as mine a 1.80 will make it a rocket, definitely unlimited. I've got a 73" span extra 300s that ways just over 12 lbs with a Saito 1.50 and it has plenty of power.
