Need Helping finding short spark plugs.
Help!
I'm putting a D&B 3.7 twin in a 30% carden Extra. I need to jack the cowling around about 1/8" to get the front of the cowl to perfectly line up with the backplate of the spinner.
Here's the problem... the spark plugs stick out sideways, and are basically touching both sides of the cowl at the same time.
I need spark plug(s) that have a shorter over-all-height, as measured sticking out of the cylinder.
Can anyone tell me what spark plugs to buy, and where to get them??

rcign has them. Do a search for rcign and E-mail him. You probably need to tell him what you already have?

If the spark plugs are WSR6 or NGK BPMR6 they can be replaced by the NGK CM6 10 mm spark plugs as used by 3W and DA and some others...You will need some adapters from C&H to reduce the 14mm thread to 10mm..The CM6 plugs are not resistor..C&H makes a shielded cap. I have resistor caps made by NGK, but not shielded...The resistor caps ar $10.00 each, not sure of the price from C&H for the shielded caps...
www.ch-ignitions.com
The CM6 NGK plugs can be found at some Honda dealers, about $3.00....

Also, DA and 3W sell a shielded resistor cap for the NGK CM6 plug. they get $20 each for the cap. I would recommend the DA cap, especially if you are using a shielded plug lead. That way, you'll have a fully shielded ignition - at least from the plug all the way back to the ignition module.

Thanks!
Thanks guys... I appreciate the wealth of info... I gotta figure out what I've got, and then what part number(s) I need to buy.
I agree about running shielded wire where ever possible. I know all about shielding the wires... I used to work for the Navy, in weapons delivery systems.... I know a lot about shielding wires from unwanted signals getting out, or in.... EMI is really nasty stuff when you've got a live weapon on the aircraft.
Thanks.
