RE: 30% nitro in rb tm523?????
This is what Rody at RB Products said about thr TM323
If you use 30% nitro you need to add 1 shim of 0.1mm
Another good place to search for possible answers are the Forum on the RB Products side (http://www.rbproducts.com/mainEn.php)
Hope this may help you

RE: 30% nitro in rb tm523?????
I read what you said and i also read the manual for both the 323 and 523, where both the manual´s state´s the original head shims are usable until 25% nitro. And this is what i found under FAQ in the Support section at RB-Product. As earlyer mentioned "Another good place to search for possible answers are the Forum on the RB Products side (http://www.rbproducts.com/mainEn.php) "
FAQ: For how many nitro are the engines set
The .28 engines can be used up till 25% nitro without making any modifications to the engine.
The .21 engines can be used up till 25% nitro without making any modifications to the engine.
The .15 engines can be used up till 25% nitro without making any modifications to the engine.
The .12 engines can be used up till 16% nitro without making any modifications to the engine.
If after you would like to use the engine with a higher nitro content(which will bring you more power but makes the setting of the engine also more delicate), then it is needed to add an additional head-shim of 0.1mm of each 5¨% of nitro content more in the fuel.
Another important information is that the more nitro you use the more the engine is stressed and so you need to be more careful with your carburetor settings...

Maybe this is more to your liking.

RE: 30% nitro in rb tm523?????
yo bro, just use the 30% in the rb523, i have one and it runs like a beast with it. and with no mods.
30% will not do anything to your engine. trust me it will run better with 30 and keep the engine cooler.

You need to add a head shim if your going to run 30%. Your compression will increase too much and cause your engine to ware out quicker. The 323 and the 523 are not the same engines (the 523 has different porting) so check and see if the manufacturer recommends using a shim or not.

yea what is a "shim"? i mean is it any 1mm thick sheet metal? i assume not actually because of heat dissipation issues, but can you buy them? or do you need to have them made?

That reply, in all caps... "THANKS FOR THE INFO BUT IF U READ WHAT I SAID I HAVE A 523 NOT A 323 " is the same as yelling, or a display of attitude....not a beleivable," thank you." Sorry about mistaking you for a juvenile, but your retort, definitely resembled that of a pre-teen or 2 we've all seen here. Since you're an experienced builder, I'm sure you'll figure it out, as the other guys are just having a little fun with ya....
Oh, BTW....I always take it easy...LOL!
