gatta take the sleeve out first, then the piston will have some play and you can move the rod off the crank

For the benefit of others or for next time. Place a loop of strong string such as dental floss around the rod just above the crank pin and pull.

wow everyday flyer good idea man never would have thought of that thanks man so will the fact that i put some scrates and plier marks on the lowest portion of my piston rod affect perfomance to me it doesnt seem as if this is that critical of a spot and also its preety minimal

A few light scratches on the con. rod should not hurt it. If it were a knife edge, mirror polished one such as in a custom race engine it would make a differencebut I have seen stock engines with some fairly ruff rods and they seem to run well for what they were..

Remove / losen the throttle return spring(s) make sure the throttle arm linkage is not binding. Check the throttle bellcrank(90 degree pivot arm) for trash(binding) ,check the throttle slide and bellows for binding. Sometimes the cardb is not set at the correct angle. Losen the draw bar(carb saftener) and rotate the card a bit one way then the other. If using a non stock radio make sure throttle channel EPA (travel) is set correctly.
