Default emaxx motors or batteries?

my girls emaxx seems to be slower than it used to be and I was woundering if their is a way to tell if I need to change the motors or if its the batteries. I drove her truck in the pond behind our house on accident about a month ago but it seemed to work fine after it dried out, could this be the cause of it, any suggestions will help.

try to cycle the batteries. drain them down so the truck will BARELY move, then give them a full charge. you could of damaged the batteries. as far as the motors go. get some electronics cleaner and give them a good spary, you can also use wd40 for the motors but im not 100% on the WD40. but the electronics cleaner is made for that.
