Default Spur Gear stripped on new X

Well I was doing some tuning doing wheelies and stuff and pulled it in to check the temp and noticed my spur gear is toast.. Stripped..[:@] What could have caused this? I was on the throttle hard today tuning tho and may have hit it at the wrong time... I should be able to get one wed. from my local LHS but it still stinks.... Man will this X run, wheelies great... LOVE IT

I'll try and get a pic of it later...

The only spur I had a problem with in well over 3 gallons was when I was breaking in my Savage 4.6 SS do to the sorry stock clutch shoes slipping so bad it melted my spur. Since I put the alloy shoes in I have not had a problem since.

I may have to replace the stock clutch shoes with some good one's later.. Still unsure how it happened with so little hard running time on it.

Spur gears can be a weak link on ANY brand MT, and for good reason, they are cheap and easily replaced, better to use them as a gear train "fuse" while all the intricasies(sp) of a new vehicle are learned by any newb. Read the owners manual, listen to the experienced, learn, and march on.

As I said mine did not make it throw the break in with the stock shoes. After that spur I have WELL over 3 gallons on the second one and still looks fine.
HPI has very good customer service!

THe only thing i dont like about hPi is that it takes forever to get hold of a person and there is no 1-800 number so u have to pay to be on hold.
