Default Engines

I have read thru most of this thread, printed out (256 pages) but I still need help. All you guys must have bought every 50cc engine out there, I was left with a 40 size or 60 zdz. I bought the 60 zdz as my first gas engine. I know it is more than enough, but I am confused as how to mount it. Will the firewall be strong enough to support the engine even with a hole cut in it for the carb. Any beefing up tips would be greatly apprectiated. Also I have to shim out about one inch, what is the best way of doing this.

Thanks in advance.

Default Sorry

I was referring to the gp pw300. I was reading the same time I was typing. I can't believe you didn't know what I was talking about (hahaha).

Default Hey EDGE....

As long as you brace F1 (w/ the dowls) like is says in the instruction manual you should be fine. For a little assurance, go to the grocery store and get a package of bamboo skewers. They are a helluva lot stronger than a dowl, which is what the say to use. You can also add some triangle stock to the sides and bottom where F1 meets F2. And if you are feeling really froggy and aren't too worried about the weight, glass the whole motorbox!!

As far as shimming it out an inch, you can go here.. http://www.geocities.com/roger_forgues/engstandoff.html
Great product and they can be in any length that you need. 1" will be a pretty easy one. He also sells them with right thrust already cut into it.

Or you can also use some ply and make your own.
