Default Recessing the firewall

I have a Giant Scale Planes Extra 300 (80" span, 67" fuse, 1215 sq. in area , 13-15 lbs). The firewall is already set. The engine I want to use (ST 4500) is too long on the ST engine mount. I need to recess the mount approx. 3". Any suggestions? Thanks.

Default RE: Recessing the firewall

Cut off the fist 3" of the engine box and glue a new firewall on the front and pin it

Default RE: Recessing the firewall

Thanks! I was thinking about doing that but I wanted to see if someone else thought the same way
