F14 crash
checkout this vid. My guess is it is justa bit tail heavy. Look and see what he uses for a fuel tank also.

RE: F14 crash
It does look like like it might have been tail heavy and yes he could have ran it out more, but he also may have looked into the sun right as it took off. Hard to tell from the cameras angle, but possible.
If that were me I would have kicked that one camera man more than once.
Too bad though it was a beautiful plane, I hope the owner has the strengh to build another.

RE: F14 crash
that happened quite awhile ago, and in fact, the builder (who didn't pilot that test flight) went on to build yet another which flew successfully. The thread is quite long but makes for interesting reading.... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_88..._F%2D14/tm.htm

RE: F14 crash
The builder and owner is Mr. JY Shim and the pilot is Korean's #2 F3A Pattern Champion, BJ Park. The first F-14 was 1/10 scale and she was too tail heavy. JY went on and built another F-14 at 1/9 scale and this time, she flies really well. Great engineering and craftmanship from JY.
