Cool, thanks for sharing. Which truck was out in the field at first?

Two questions: 1. How bad does the XTM walk away from the Axial?
2. 13.5lb Savages!!!... are those extended TVPs made out of granite or what?[X(]

well the truck with the rollcage has steel braces for the cage, LST SHocks and thick aluminum braces for the shocks... she weighs 13.5 lbs dry... It is a 1/2" extended

the other truck is a 1/5/8 high octane ectended TVP with aluminum knuckles, bulheads, bulhead braces, diff housing and diff cups, as well as some other custom bracing in the chassis..it is a hill climb truck and meant to take some serious punishment....

the two trucks are very very close, the 457 mananges to put a few mph on over the Axial after about 250 feet... stock vs stock the 457 smokes the Axial very badly.... IMO the stock Axial is a turd on top next to the high revving 457....... but now that its ported the Axial just screams, especialy when you consider both trucks weigh 13.5 lbs and are running 17/47 gearing...listen to the RPM the Axial is now hitting...

i think with pipe and fine tuning we could make the Axial even faster but I feel the same about the 457 as well.... If someone was to buy a new engine the 457 is likely the better choice as it has all the bottom end with alot more top end...ported both are very comparable, but in every single race the 457 manages to squeek ahead a few feet..but as i said there are alot of little things that could change that..the Axial truck had too much rear toe in and that alone could hurt top speed just enough...i do feel on any given day the ported Axial could beat the ported XTM depending on who's more dialed in........ we did do stock vs stock and quite honestly there is no contest whatsoever the 457 is on a whole different level as far as top end is concerned...

I'm surprised the Axial picked up that much power from the mods. I know the 457 will own it stock, but I thought the modded comparison would be even worse for the Axial. Good info, good info....
