It all depends on what shock towers and bulkheads you have. Here is what HPI says about their LCG chassis.
For the original Savage this set requires the use of a pullstarter engine, engines with Roto Start are not compatible. This set can be used with the Savage X and a pullstarter or Roto Start engine, slight trimming of the Savage X plastic roll hoop is required.

I think the palte part # is 80357. No other motor plate fits or works not even the Savage X plate.
I trying to put these frame on a Savage X bulkhead using the motor plate made for it.
The rotostart location seems to be right behind and in the middle of the lower X on the shock tower.
Does the lower X suppose to be modded and cut away? wouldn't that weaken the shock tower?
Would using a rotostart plate at the 9 o'clock positon rather the standard 11 o'clock work?
