Default Unedited Extreme Eyecam Video

Anyone have an example of unedited video taken with an eyecam extreme using the standard mount? I haven't bought a camera and want to have a look at some video before I buy anything. If it looks like crap, maybe I'll wait for a small and light enough digital camera to come around.

I have a short piece at http://www.slcity.com/df/videos/ Go to the bottom of the page and click on uncompressed video. This was taken with a SAVS camera and mount. Hope it helps.

Thanks Scott. That's actually pretty decent.

I assume by unedited, you mean unprocessed (unstabilized with software). Are you talking about the older 2 inch arm that mounts directly to the flight board? All of the video before the Staples lot at the link below was shot with the older mount and a CMOS camera. Even if it had been the nicer CCD camera using the old mount, you would just get clearer video but with all of that high frequency vibration. The new mount takes out all of the vibration.

Yeah, I really want to see what it looks like with the articulated mount that attaches to the circuit board. If it's too jerky, I will need to get an SAV ball mount as well. If there is a super small digital camera out there, it might be more economical to just mount one of those and use it. Of course, you can't monitor what you're shooting at the same time.

What do you need to use to watch .asx video?

Why not? You simply plug in a monitor or eyewear to your receiver's or recorder's output.

The .asx files are Windows Media files and should play fine by default. Make sure it is checked in the media player's file tab.

I agree with Sky, the eyeglasses work great and allows you to keep track of the flyer at the same time as you watch the video.

What do you mean by you'll have to see what it looks like with that board mount? [sm=confused.gif] The video that I described at that link IS what it looks like with the board mount.

The board mounted video was pretty bad. Here's another example with a bonus crash at the end...

Still can't open an .asx file. Tried it at work and at home. There are some codecs missing but Media Player doesn't seem to know what they are.

Holy smokes Scott, that was a pretty exciting crash! Yeah, the quality is not that great. Was that taken with an extreme eyecam mounted to the circuit board? Does the SAV mount make a really huge difference?
