DX2 in Savage X
So I was browsing Savage-Central, and noticed that a Spektrum DX2 was 170 dollars.. That's cheap considering it's 2.4ghz, has 2 servos a a receiver. Am I correct? I was thinking about dropping this into a Savage X, but would this radio suit it well? Will the hi-torque servo do well as the steering servo?
Here's the radio (don't make it go out of stock for me !)

That is about the going price for a DX2 and the new DX2.0 is coming out. If I where you and going to go with a Spectrum I would get the DX3.0 for about $250 which is 3 channel and comes with 2 receivers. The receiver cost about $80 alone. I love my DX3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No but if you have reverse it works better then the set up HPI has for the 2 channel and you get an extra receiver. If you wait till the new models come out they will have 4 model memory instead of 3. But other then 3 channel and an extra receiver the DX3 and DX2 are the same.

Yes, the 3 channel is much better for reverse. If you have 2 channel I can see reverse being useless.
You hold brake down for 3 seconds, car doesn't stop, especially with the stock brakes.
Reverse engages at 3 seconds.
Reverse is ruined because car is still moving.
Buy new gears cost 1/2 price of reverse.
Not happy, just because you saved $60.
If that happens 2 times you lost out, and you get the extra reciever, like said above, as you will eventually end up with more than 1 car.

RE: DX2 in Savage X
The servo that comes with the DX2 would not be desireable for steering a monster truck. I believe it only has 86 oz of torque. I have the DX2 in my buggy and my savage and would never go back to am or fm radio again.

panic break?
so i press and hold the A button? i thought it was just for adjusting something because it has the -1, 0 ,1 numbers. or does the adjustment itself engage the 3rd channel.
