RE: New 40% Sukhoi SU26 mx on the drawing boards
John,
How are the plans coming along? Will we be seing a "final CAD" drawing soon?
Wonder what kind of airfoil is used on wing and stab.

RE: New 40% Sukhoi SU26 mx on the drawing boards
Hello,
We have been so busy that I have let the updates falll through the cracks. They will be comming soon. Now with that said Im using the same successful airfoils from the YAK 54. No need to reinvent the wheel. I will be update build threads very soon.
Thanks
John

John,
I don't know much about your YAK - and therefore nothing about which airfoil(s) used... About the SU, I like what you did about centerline, wing and stab... also the fact you have chosen the SU-26 (more "body from the side").
So, please tell me about the airfoil(s) for the SU-26... at root and tip of wing... and the stab. If you don't want to share this information I accept that... just let me know.

RE: New 40% Sukhoi SU26 mx on the drawing boards
Hello,
Well we took a NACA number and have a friend that works for the aerospace industry. We tweek it and try it on the computer. Almost 99% of the time this saves time and labor making more wings. We have done this for 15 years and so far has worked very well in the delopement of each design we do.
Thanks
John

Have you considered using the scale airfoil? We used it on a smaller scratch build model, and it was extremely effective. We even used the scale aileron design. It was amazing it hover, and it rolled dead straight. I have been thinking of building a 35% model but have not had the time.

Hello,
Typically full scale airfoils do not work. We know this works and allows the plane to float in 3D yet perform IMAC squences with great ease. So keeping to a proven design works well. But thank you for your input. I always like to hear other peoples success's

Hello Sukhoi friends...I also build a sukhoi 26 MX... started 1.5 yrs ago with a 2D plan and converted it into a 3D CAD model and machined it in my homebuild CNC mill!! Now i work with my secont carbon fibre sukhoi... Welcome to www.modellbyggeriet.se/sukhoi
