My Hornet has a lot of slack in the variable pitch setup on the tail rotor. Everytime the batteries are newcharged I have to trim the tail quite abit to the left. Then,as I fly I have to re-trim to the right severaltimes during the 10 minutes of flying.

Am I alone about this case or is it a common problem to the Hornet?

Any suggestion what I can do?

Slop or 'slack' as you put it, in the Hornets tail mechanics causes more problems with stability, precision, response than what you're describing.

Drifting of the tail over time indicates you check your gyro. Is it a PG-03 or the MS 180?

These gyros do not have adequate temperature compensation and will drift on you as they warm-up/cool-down, a characteristic that exactly matches your description.

Best thing to do is just learn to fly with it. Or get a HH gyro like the GY-240...

I got a GWS gyro.Not sure of the model#. I know that you can modify the tail setup itself with double ballbearings I think, and this way make the pitch assy more acurate.

I bugs me that I have to trim all the time,or compensate. Makes the Hornet less stable for sure. Since I film a lot from the Hornet I need stability!

I also have a hornet fixed pitch. They say you could fly it without a heli radio that is not true it needs every heli feature you could dish out and some It really needs rev mixing up and down 40% constant trimming and you need to be an expert pilot with a lot of luck. Does not fly like the big choppers they just about fly themselves. Any one else agree?
