List of Manned RC Turbine Projects
All,
I've done some research and found that there are 7 manned projects that have used or are using microturbine propulsion. I'm sure that all of them have been mentioned at one time or another in this or other fora, but I have never seen a consolidated list, Here is what I have so far:
Jet Man Yves Rossy (Switzerland)

Bird Man Visa Parviainen (Finland)
http://www.bird-man.com/index.cgi?n=gallery&q=video (bottom of page)
Bob Carlton's Silent J jet glider (United States)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Odv36r7gJRY
Nicolas Charmont's Cri-Cri jet (France)
http://www.amtjets.com/gallery_real_plain.html
The late Yves Duval's Cri-Cri jet (France)

The Jet Bug crew (United Kingdom)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elh4djwGrX0
Rick Herron's Skywalker jet pack (United States)
http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/31/s...n-development/
I'm not counting the guys who've put converted APUs on their utralights, e.g.:
Jim Gordon's Mitchell B-10 (United States)
http://www.frappr.com/mitchellwings/photos/3161425
Larry Berg's turboprop powered Aventura amphibian (United States)

Is there anyone that I'm missing?
Happy and Safe New Year,

Thanks, Rob. I appreciate that. Sadly, Bob's website seems to be offline, but I've added a YouTube video of his airshow to my list.

RE: List of Manned RC Turbine Projects
Hi Bob,
Just wanted to say that I really admire your work with the Jet Luge. For now, I'm listing aircraft only -- I plan to put a couple of turbines in a Mitchell Wing U-2 to replace the 20hp Zenoah, and I want to see what other folks have done along similar lines. That said, I could probably learn a lot from anyone who has integrated a microturbine with a manned vehicle. Since you're in Waldorf and I'm in DC, maybe I can buy you lunch sometime?
Cheers,
Bill

Hit me up when ever you would like. I work at Naval Research Lab in DC. I have also been consulted, questioned by, several others wanting to Jet Power Ultra-lites and para-gliders. I would be glad to help with what I do know...
