Revo always breaking, please help!!!
Hey there,
I am continuously breaking shock shafts in the rear of my revo, Im running P2 rockers tan springs at the back with 30wt oil. Ive broken at least 7 standard traxxas shock shafts at the back and I am always replacing the plastic rod ends, either they stretch or break completely. Im not onto the TiN shafts and am hoping that they wont break, Im too scared now to launch the truck high, because I dont want to cry went I break yet another shaft.
Does anyone have any ideas why they keep on breaking. They will always break if I do a backflip and land on grass, my slipper clutch is actually quite loose and I land all 4 down at the same time never at WOT.
Help
Are the Integy MSR6 Piggyback Shocks better than my current shocks, in terms of overall strength?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I consider the stock shocks to be perfectly great for general applications. Unless there's something about your shocks that causes them to bind up, or you're truly abusing your truck, you shouldn't be having those problems chronically.
Rod ends can sometimes stretch on the rear of the truck due to the engine heat. Might recommend aluminum ends if you're having that problem.

I personally think that anyone who launches their truck 20 feet into the air then breaks things then asks questions wondering why things are breaking really doesnt' need any explanation why they are actually breaking. It's like me asking "why does my front bumper break every time i drive full speed into a curb"? I've haven't met or seen anybody break shock shafts until now. I guess there's a first for everything.

If I do a backflip less than 7 feet off the ground they still break. I think I must throw this thing in the bin and just by a new revo.

Have you done anything special to your shocks, such as add shock limiters? What weight springs and shock oil are you using?
Are you sure there's no binding in your suspension that might cause your shocks to contort or flex in a way they shouldn't?

Well Im running tan springs at the back, and green at the front. with about 30wt oil, cant remember but its between 30 and 50wt. My chassis is very scratched at the rear, but im not sure if thats just front thing scraping after the shock shaft has broken. My something is distorted at the back from a previous crash of something. I think the 3.3 chassis with some new shocks for the back will do my good.
