B17 Plan For 40 Engines
I LIVE IN HONDURAS, IF ANY ONE KNOW WERE I CAN GET PLANS FOR A B17 FOR 40 ENGINES. I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP

Aerotech International does a kit for 4 40 size engines, I am just finishing mine, it is not a first time building model, and a lot of thought has to go into it....not an easy kit to build! but looks ok at the end!...

I have just finished the Aerotech ME110 and have the B17 kit in storage for a future project.
Would appreciate a note of any particular problem areas with the B17.

B17 Plan For 40 Engines
I started building this kit when i was well inexperienced!! but now with much more time in the air and building i can say that teh first thing is that the section where the dowels for the wing fit are not correct, eitheir this or the wing seat is not cut for the correct wing incidence.
Having discussed with many other pilots here in dublin, the engine incidences may not be correct eitheir.
when constructing the fuselage box, there are foam parts that fit onto this box, each foam section is seperated by 1/2 balsa sections, these foam and balas section did not fit properly on my aircraft.e.g. the cut out of the foam was not correct to fit over the interior box construction at the correct points.
They have given no provisions for fuel tanks and retracts at the inboard engines.e.g. the wheel is fighting with the fuel tank!!!
no flaps on the model kit....PUT IN FLAPS ( i havent flown it yet, will do this summer, but without flaps the plane will be like a rocket)
Weight, the plane will be MUCH heavier than they suggest, if you can get 46 size engines in the same size as 40's then take advantage of the extra power.
2 batteries, with a switching system, check out www.avfvideo.com for battery switching system.
I have about 13 servos, make sure to have well enough power as 4 engines willl take a little time to start!
I'm thinking of re-inforcing the wing sowl connection to the fuselage.
Allow for the placement of lead into the nose cone, as the tail will be much heavier when you have engineered I estimate my b17 will be 30lbs when fully completed
Any quetions, just fire away, I have few pictures at the moment, will send if you remind me in the near future.
From talking with people who have built aerotech before, whatever you do, GET MORE OPINIONS on aerotech...they do not seem to be correct when it comes to calculations, incidences, etc...like weight.
Just be on the ball for that, we had a few crashes in our club www.srfc.net from people who followed the letter as aerotech wrote it....
be good! and build slowely!!!

Thanks James . . . . and I thought the 110 was a bit of a challenge to put together!
Would like to see the photos in due course, will post some of the 110 at some point.

i will do better than that, i will have a client / friend of mine...look at www.airvideofred.com
I do this website. He will be on hand to video the test flight, and pre-flight tests so you are welcome to the detailed video taken when it all happens, keep my address to hand , as i dont regurarly come on here,,,
Also, being i am 23, i am considering takeing the car for a spin around uk, and europe. so might be able to arrange to bring it your direction you might have a flight!!! if i can arrange a box to transport it!

ps. looking to have operating cowl flaps on my latest model, 1/5 scale p-47 with 95cc petrol engine...any ideas on how to mechanicall operate cowl flaps on a model?

Sorry, working cowl flaps are a bit out of my league, but there seem to be loads of very skilled builders visiting this forum who have already given me help and advise. May be worth posting a thread on this subject, I am sure somebody will know.
