Damn it.. Missing screws.. please help!
I swear I didnt lose em. I dont think they friggin came with the kit.
I'm missing one fine threaded short screw with a conical wood screw head.
I'm also missing other but I think they are included in future bags
Any ideas?
I checked HOME DEPOT. They said that they are specialty metric scerews and that they dont carry them
I'm about to go check at radio shack.
And maybe even my hobby store! yeah! good idea! lol

The hobby stores usually have several bags of screws that go with certain vehicles. I picked up some extra screws for my xxx nt from there. Also I have noticed on ebay a whole lot of screw kits for sale. Hope that helps.

EBAY!!! YESS!
Thank you!
You know I dont know if it was missing.. I doubt it. I think I will have to take the blame.
But now I'm facing a new problem.
They want me to fit this HUGE screw into this small hole. NO WAY!
I'm currently bashing my head against a brick wall.
Then again I remember I had a similar experience with the HPI SS. But this is a little more frustrating. At least the HPI didnt seem to have missing parts, and heck I Was a lot less organized too.
Look what I get for trying hard! lol

Either goto your LHS or call Mugen (<---- Good Luck). LHS is your best bet, that will cary most specialty screws, plus most are interchangeable.

LOL Nah screw calling them
I've seen many screws that come close
Does this happen often? Missing screws and stuff?
HPI was TOTALLY AWESOME at this the kit came with plenty of extras and it was well organized.
Whats the deal with this "using bag A, J, Q"
What the hell is the purpose of giving the bag separate names if I'm gonna be using them together?
ITs pretty stupid
These damn companies need to get their act together
And the manual is FULL OF SPELLING MISTAKES
That doesnt make me feel too good about the company either
I had respect for Mugen. Now I dont know

I once helped rebuild a 283 Chevy engine. When we were all finished...the engine completely assembled and ready to be put in.....we had a small coffee can of nuts...bolts....and screws left over. Puzzled....we looked at each other and asked: Where do these go? Neither one of us knew....so we stuck the engine in....got it all hooked up....fired it up and it ran like a dream!
Now....you sure you can't go without a couple of screws?

LOL
Dude your talkin about a chevy. You can make that thing run without havin a piston in one of the cylinders and you'd never notice
Well actually I cant go without these screws. The set screws are heck.. you know what. The other screw I'm missing holds down the steering system.
At least I know of a solution and at least I can keep building
The damn "stick the 2 inch screw into a 2cm opening" problem still has me stumped lol
If I see anything I'll update you guys

Mugen
I have to jump in on this one, MUGEN puts together excellent kits and has great manuals compared to others.
Keep in mind that the manual has been translated so that should explain some things.
Heck When I was building Mugen stuff the manuals were not translated.
If you are missing parts you need to go back to the manufacturer, they should ship out whatever you are missing.
You are going to see this from time to time with any manufacturer, what counts is how they react to your complaint.
Let us know

Well I tried 2 Home Depots.
They said that these were specialty screws and that I had to try either radio shack or a hobby store.
I'm not convinced.
They do carry metric screws but just nothing like this.
I will try Lowes and Ace HArdware today! Thanks for the tip!
I have e-mailed Mugen about this just to see how they respond (if). I'll let you know how that goes as well
I'm gonna hit up Ace and Lowes today and maybe even radio shack. Gotta squeeze school in there somehow lol j/k.
Thanks!

Oh sweet, now I actually have some options!
Appreciate the offer man, but let me exhaust my options before I inconvenience others.
You know at this point I dont want to diss mugen or give it a praise. I'll wait till I finish the kit. This kit definitely has more screws than a car, and my inexperience is prolly the reason I'm getting frustrated. I certainly cannot discount the fact that the missing screws may very well be my fault. But we'll see.
Thanks again

Well I got the "screw wont fit" problem issued.
My mistake? OF COURSE! It would help to open that extra bag and take the smallER screw out!
anyway now I'm one short of another set screw. but seeing how I've been screwing up as well, I'm gonna look around, if not gonna head over to the shop. I seem to remember seeing this size in stock.
Oh well I'm out
Thanks for the help guys!

Sometimes the screws arent in the exact bag that you are working in at that point of assembly. What I do is get out a very large size card table or picnic table and put a sheet over it and open all the bags leaving the letter by the bag so I can still identify it. I noticed that the screws are very close in size and length and very hard to tell apart so you may need to search through all the bags for the one screw you cant find. I have assembled 4 or 5 mugen cars and have never been shorted on anything so you shouldnt be having the problems you are if it was a factory sealed box. Fine threaded metric screws that are countersunk can be hard to find so try not to lose any. Building 1/8 scale is fun huh, youll get it and then you can appoligize to Mugen.

Screws
Dont worry Ram we have all been there before.
I use a caliper when I build kits, I go through and measure all my screws and place them in little bins (Microwave dinner trays).
Tower sells a kit that has like a ton of screws in it for the hobby stuff. I have thought of getting one many times just to have in the box. I dont have a link at the moment but I know tower has it. Check it out when you get a chance.
