If no good K/E without SFGs = not correct set-up.

Just because you have a problem with your model there is no need to resort to smart alec remarks like "wise one".
My x100 K/Es very well with NO coupling.
I have a clubmate (we both fly in F3A comps) with the X50 and his is fine too, we have not tried the SFGs on his 50 yet, it does not appear to need them.
Please try adjusting your c of g, engine thrust ect. untill yours is trimmed for 3D. In the meantime, try not to take it personally when another posters experiences differ with yours. Life's too short my friend, just get out and enjoy your flying.

hi Jarrah
difficult to comment from several thousand miles away.
repeating my models (and that of my friends) brilliant K/E performance wont change the way yours flies i'm afraid.
could it be a wing incedance problem that you have? to get good K/E (without coupling) needs correct W/I and C of G combined.
I am no Chip Hyde but I am used to doing this on my F3A models.
best of luck

RE: Funtana X ARF
I have to admitt my X100 couples in KE and Flatturns to the Gear on Rudder... But I have only gone back to 6 1/2 inches on the CG and I have more I can go... So far it is managable with Rudder Elevator mixing...
Will moving the CG further rearward improve the coupling or make it worse all else staying the same?
Thanks,
Hibrass

Piroflip...apparently you are the only one with a Funtana that has the ability to K/E great. My CG is setup great for 3d. I can do blenders, inverted flat spins with no problem. If I go back ne more it will be impossible to fly. Either you got an exception Funtana or you are doing something majorly diffrent from everyone else but in any case every funtana I have ever seen try a K/E it truely is a joke. Hince the reason to come out with SFG's. oh and I said that because you assumed my setup was wrong

RE: Funtana X ARF
Spark,
I think you answer my question.. And maybe answered the KE question... My coupling is progressive with the amount of Rudder... If I don't have to use as much Rudder the keep the Nose up maybe that will decrease the amount of coupling I encounter....?
I will try moving the CG back further the next time I go out... Sadly, the next two weekends are Cubscout events so I will have to wait to try it in a couple of weeks...
Thanks,
Hibrass

RE: Funtana X ARF
That makes sense. I have my CG at about 6 3/8'' from the leading edge but she still couples pretty hard. I think I have another half an inch of play then the plane will be too aft heavy in order to be safe. Let me know how it works out for you when you go. Thanks

RE: Funtana X ARF
The landing gear pulls my 100 x in circles on knife edge so I mixed in a little up elevator at BOTH right and left FULL rudder. Now it does just what I want beautiful knife edges going either way. With a little more up or down elevator I can do knife edge turns no problems. My funtana is purposely nose heavy to help on landings!
