Any one ever paint their plane with sanding sealer before glassing?

No I haven't. I can't see what the benefit would be. What did you have in mind?

I fill in all the dings and cracks and just do a final sanding with 300 or 400 grit. Then I use a tack cloth to clean up.

Default Benifits

The only one I coould think of is it makes sanding and filling a little bit easier. It will alos take all the fuzz off the balsa. I am not sold on doing this, just was wondering if any one has done it and if why?

The "How to Glass with Polyurethane" technique on the following web page uses sanding sealer before glassing with polyurethane:

I don't have firsthand experience with it yet, but I do plan on using the technique in the very near future.

Default Sanding Sealer

I have used sanding sealer and it worked well to smooth things up and get rid of the balsa fuzz. It didn't add much weight and comes out slick as glass.
