RE: DELETE THIS THIS ALSO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
here's my 2 cents for anyone who gives a crap!!!!!
there isnt any NEW inovations on the market that really give you any advantage.... gas rc boats have reached a limit where as you have to spend 100s and 100s of dollars to get 0.000000003 KM/H faster!!!!!! or give .00006% more handleing ability!!!
whats needed is something completely new that renders all exiting technologies........"old school"
Boost bottle, WOW do they really work??????? NO oh well move on to the next thing
mayby add another gatagory for new innovations where someone comes up with a halfbaked new idea and others maybe able to come up with reasons why it wont work,....or rubbich the idea,....or improve it, build it and test it!!!
people here seem to be getting bored, thats why the "WOODY" threads seem to be so popular cos these folks are desiging there own boat decks
theres something about buying "X" hull and buying "Y" engine and buying "W" hardware, put it all together and you'll get .....X-Y-W preformance and power......"yaaaawn" that doesnt appeal to me
im reminded of a new zealand chap called John Britten who back in the late 80s early 90s built a racing motorbike from a completely new concept, AND built the whole bike himself in his garage "engine and all" it was built almost completely out of carbon firbe, had no frame, on board engine managment ETC.ETC he took this thing to daytona in a wooden crate and i still remeber the image of the Britten bike pulling up to the leading Ducati who was full throttle, pulling a wheelie beside him and dropping back again....basically toying with the muti million dollar motorcycle empire
my belated point being?????
if there was gunna be a NEW concept in gas rc boats, what better place to concieve one
if ya all thing im a babbling idiot plase detete this post
if not, put ya thinking caps on theres no such thing as a silly idea only silly responces
my 2 cent anyways

this will blowup your 2 stroke engine
I'm not recommending this setup !
http://www.vsmodelsport.com/products_vsm.htm
Name: NX 2-stroke nitrous system
Desription: gives any 2-Stroke 23/26cc gas motor an est. 1HP, set.
Part#: V03000
Application: all large scale 2-stroke gas models 23/26cc motors

RE: DELETE THIS THIS ALSO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
steve nitrous only blows up engines when used incorrectly. i once knew a kid who put a 150 shot on a nissan maxima that was bone stock, used the nitrous on the track durign weekend racing. never had a problem.
can only use it during wide open throttle and the main thing with our engines is we need more rpm's, not more horsepower. we need to spin the prop faster to push more water, not to gain more power. power will help but gear boxes used in conjunction with nitrous would help more. but only for short bursts.
would be good used with a huge prop, in a straight line boat, run through a gearbox. the power will help push a bigger prop and overcome the lose form the gearbox.

RE: DELETE THIS THIS ALSO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd imagine that a boost bottle on a gas engine would do the same as on a nitro.
Nitro engines tend to have immediate throttle response using the boost bottle. There is no hesitation when hitting the gas.
Never used these since when racing on dirt they tended to give you too much throttle response causing a spin out in a turn.

I've just gone through this thread and had to remove around 15 or so posts. As the members here have nothing more to contribute to the topic of the thread I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread down. It's become very apparent that this discussion has just about played out.
