Blue is removable so you should be using that. The red is permanent!

the red one is not permanent...you just have to heat it. so if you use it on areas that could be hot on the motor it wont work good.

You can also use the thin green, if you want to, after the parts have been bolted together. It has the same properties as the blue, but it uses capilary <sp?> action to walk it's way up between the threads.

Thus far I have never needed to use loctitie on any threads or bolts. Didnt know there was that big a need for it.

i used to be a marine mechanic, and i used red all the time. its not permanent. it holds liek all hell but a little heat will free it up easily. dotn use it on bolts that will get hot as it will not work.

i just dotn see the use for this stuff on these boats. maybe on some transom parts but thats about it.

ive had the header bolts back out not using anything. Had no luck trying to use green & and blue either. Small dab of red on the threads that just make it into the jug works best for me. Holds fine, and comes right out without a bunch of force.
