Okay...now I'm annoyed
Blade clack AGAIN.
This is the 2nd time. I was in forward flight (NO WIND AT ALL......REALLY) and made a left turn and BOOM....down she went.
E-flite REALLY needs to get a fix out for this. I bought the vortex parts and lighter flybar to try to fix the problem but they haven't come in yet.
I like this little heli, but that is REALLY annoying!

I've had that also in those conditions
The lower blades really need to be a LOT stiffer to prevent from coning up.
A greater seperation between the blades is also needed, as the upper blade gets close to the lower blade in FFF.

RE: Okay...now I'm annoyed
guys, you didn't buy a trex. you bought a $189 coaxial heli. it does what it's supposed to do. if you want an aggressive heli, pony up the cash and buy one. there are inherent flaws in the coaxial design. i don't think e-flite is to blame. the heli is a beginner heli designed to learn the basics of hovering and heli control. it's also billed as an indoor heli. that being said, one could infer that it is not intended to perform fast forward flights. you can certainly modify it yourself to make it perform better, but it's not going to perform like a more expensive, more aggressively designed heli. it is what it is.

as i understand it, there is a alum. upgrade that has longer shafts. i've seen them on ebay, but check with your local dealer. inner and outer shafts together were running about $20.00

Parts that bladecxpro.com sells are repackaged Dynam vortex parts,
Dizzy......you are on the right track. You do have to remove your lower half of the flybar linkage and put it on the Dynam flybar, everything else is a perfect fit. Search out the CX2 Mods thread in here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5298052/tm.htm look on page 1, has the entire mods list with links and everything. Good info!

I've heard that the stage 1 upgrade does not make much of a difference

I have a lot of experience with these longer shafts and they make a big difference. Blade clack is greatly reduced. A very worthwhile upgrade, IMHO. Neall

RE: Okay...now I'm annoyed
I had this problem with a coax heli and I just ended up trying not to make hard left turns. This is, like NitroBobby says, just an inherent problem with coax helicopters that vary the head speeds between the upper and lower main blades in order to turn. My coax heli would slow down the upper blades in relation to the lower blades while turning to the left. This would cause the upper blades to "go flat" while the lower blades were still in a cone with the result being a clash between the blades. Turning right, of course, caused the opposite, which greatly reduced the blade clash problem. It sounds like you are ready for a BCP, Axe CP, T-Rex, etc. heli IMO.

RE: Okay...now I'm annoyed
Thanks for the posts all !
Don't get me wrong (I DO like this heli). I am an airplane guy (20+years) and I have always wanted to try a heli. I bought a CP Hummingbird a couple of years ago and had a REALLY bad time with it. It threw parts, cost a lot, and even the heli-pro at the hobby shop could never get it to fly. I invested nearly $500 into it (better gyro, brushless, dual speed controls, aluminum, etc.) and all I had was a noisey (albeit cool looking ) paper weight. As such I was a little gun shy to buy a T-REX or an MX-400.
This one flys GREAT and it is fun to play with after work. It just seems that E-flite could learn from people here and offer some upgrade options that could fix or come close to eliminating the problem ( Longer shafts, dampened flybar, etc). Most people don't check THIS forum until AFTER they have a problem.
Anyway, she'll be flying again soon. Thanks all !
