SMARTECH UPGRADES?
NEW TO NITRO RC. WELL, NEW TO RC PERIOD. JUST GOT A SMARTECH 4X4 ON-ROAD COMMANDO. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT PARTS COMPATABLE TO UPGRADE?

Agree i have had a SMartech Winner Pro for some time each time it is taken out for a run it breaks and new parts are requires i have an associated NTC3 and i have had it just as long and it has never broke and still going stron the Smartech cars are just made out of cheap britle plastic hit a rock to hard and the a arms break.
I would like to know about part that would interchange so i could get some stronger part instead of buying the stock junk and have it break again.

don't let these guys get you down, so you have a smartech it is not a lost cause. there are some things you can do that will help this car and make it fast and desides if you are new to nitro you will be making alot of mistakes and better you beat up a $150.00 dollar smartech then a 3 or 4 hundred dollar car!!!!!!!!!! first thing is the motor they are not very good they tend to lock up i have a O.S. 15 long shaft on mine but just about any 15 will fit as long as it has the long crankshaft .
ebay is a great place to find parts you can find a full bearing kit for about 30.00 dollars +shipping maybe a little more its been a while since i bought mine. cvd for the front drive and alum upper plate and shock towers. you can also buy a sway bar kit for a traxxas 4tech and bend it a little and it will fit traxxas clutch shoes will also fit.
ebay is the best place to find parts if you own one of these cars and you can have them usally withend a week the same amount of time it would take a hobby store to order parts for a main stream brand. you will find out that you will get no help at your local hobby stores either most of them are rc smobs if you don't have what they sell it is junk. they will tell you the same thing these guys said buy a new car but i say run it and learn it not a bad car with a little work and the parts are cheaper to replace then a main stream brand then when you know what you are doing go buy a new car

I totally agree, I have had this car for 2 month now, took it out for 40 fuel tanks, NOTHING BROKE! i dont go slow, try to take it off small jumps and its totally fine. I would upgrade the suspension to truggy style but thats about it, GOOD CAR FOR BEGGINERS, EVERYBODY STOP YOUR B/I/T/C/H/I/N/G!!!
