Default reliable venders

I think we need to make a list of which vendors are good and which are bad. I recently purchased a Belt-cp combo from HobbyJapan2000.com and the motor they included with the combo does not fit the screw pattern of the kit, the battery they included doesn't fit the battery tray on the kit. I ordered a telebee gyro from them and they sent me a walkera gyro without asking if I was ok with the switch. I sent an email to them and they basically replied telling me that they felt it was ok. I would avoid this vendor at all costs.

So far I had to buy a new battery and will probably have to buy a new motor, and was overcharged for a walkera gyro.

Why would you order from an overseas company?

I suspect price. You know what they say "you get what you pay for" I have had no problem buying upgrades from my LHS, Ebay, Horizon just to name a few. That's my list.

Your LHS is a good bet as buying online is always a gamble when it comes to shipping damage, order accuracy, and timely delivery. I have found that my LHS prices are exactly the same as the well known online stores when it comes to E-Flite items and parts. My LHS has also given me very sound advice (to the point of nearly missing a sale) many times.
If you must order online, I recommend that you run a search on the "customer satisfaction ratings" of any online store before you buy from them. Bizrate is just one example of the many sites that rate online stores. I must, however, say that I have had 95+% satisfaction from the many online stores that I have used over the years. This includes Grand Hobby and Hobbytron. Go figure.

The place I use has a knowledgable owner, and I can inspect the parts before i pay for them, as i pick them up from the warehouse. I also buy from my LHS for convienence and to gain from their knowledge. It can be a balance.

In the spirit of the question:

I have had two good experiences so far:

1) Boomtown Hobbies (He is still on e-bay right now under the name "Stersman" ). I bought my boom kit and skids from him for about $30 and they arrived on my doorstep 3 days later. The boom and skids are GREAT.

2) Bladecxpro.com. I have heard that he is overpriced, but the items arrived in 4 days and as described. You could probably find cheaper, but hey...it's a free market and I'm the goon that didn't price shop . I purchased the longer inner and outer shafts and shorter flybar for the CX2. Everything fits perfectly so far. (Still waiting on the head unit from Microheli.................)
