Default Help my radios hooped?

I was running my X on sunday everything was fine then all of a sudden it slowed to a idle and my transmitter had no effect on it, I thought it was just the batteries so I put new ones in both the tx and rx, and nothing. I tried putting the antennas together and it works, but the antenna off the rx has to be touching the transmitter antenna for it to move the servos. What could it be that is causing this? I took both the tx and rx apart and they looked fine , the antenna on the reciever is connected to the electronic board, HELP! any ideas, do I need a new radio set?

It could be either the transmitter or the reciever or something as simple as the crystals. To find out you're really going to need another, known working radio system. If you don't have a friend with a Savage then I'd take it to your lhs and get them to help troubleshoot it.
I wouldn't be rushing right out and buying a new radio just yet...Unless of course you're just looking for a reason to get a new set.

Thanks losidriver, but actually the stock radio on mine is a.m. and I might just have to get new radio gear today sent from great hobbies in Edmonton http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...rod_id=JRP2342 with the axial .28, thanks for the ph # I gotta stop in there next time I go through pg. What do you guys think should this radio set up work with the servos it comes with, it was an option for the savage Xss so I thought it should work on the regular X?

First things first...Damn that site is expensive. Now, for your question.
You'ld be better off with this radio. It's FM and that's worth the extra $5 all by itself.
http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...rod_id=FUT2PLF
But I'd rather get it from Tower w/o any servos ('cause none of the stock servos are going to be better than what's in the truck now.) and it's $40 less.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXNHS1**&P=0
That would leave you enough money to get a hitech 645mg which is a LOT better than the stock steering servo.

Then you could move the stock steering servo to the throttle and you'ld have a much better set-up.

Tower even has the Axial .28

and those things togeather will get you $20 off the order too.

Yeah but, Yeah buttt, I've ordered from tower before for my helicopter parts and Ive got a 3 speed comming from them and the only problem is paying the duty and delivery from the US. It makes the cost way more for me and buying from tower its in us dollars and our dollar is worth like 10 cents compared to yours So that radio set up wouldnt be that good? I wanted to get a whole set as a combo deal, what about the axial is it as crappy as everyone says?
