RE: thinking of getting a 3.3 revo
Well I don't no much about the 3.3 Revo or the T-Maxx, but I have a 2.5R Revo. I think it's a great truck, it handles nice, the suspension is great, and its durable. Its also great for racing. Although the opti-drive fried. Id say go for it. BTW my 2.5R holds the carb settings pretty good. Hope this helps.

My 3.3 ran fine. You do have to tune it though. More than an average motor but besides that the revo is a great choice. I wouldn't trade mine for any other truck. Definatley handles better than a Maxx.

RE: thinking of getting a 3.3 revo
The Revo is one of the best trucks for racing. Mine is fantastic! The 3.3 engine is no fun. I'd get the 3.3 and sell the motor new. Use the money to buy a O.S. 18TM from Tower Hobbies for $130.00.

Revo handles better than the Maxx and the Revo has a lot more potential to go fast. The Maxx does better wheelies and looks more like a real monster truck. Either car has it's own issues.
I didn't find the TRX3.3 hard to tune, especially stock with 20% fuel. Even stock with the resonator pipe and 33% fuel is easy to tune. Just follow the instructions, do the breakin (or heat cycle) and lean it till you get to about 230-270 degrees, do the pinch test for the low speed and you are done. I'm at 8 gallons on one and it's starting to show signs of difficulty. Nitro in general requires some knowhow and there is a learning curve.
Don't count out some of the other brands too, the Savage has a lot of happy drivers.

RE: thinking of getting a 3.3 revo
ive only tuned the low speed once and it turns off on a 3-4 secong pinch count
as for the high speed..well lets just say it likes attention
but id say definitely go for the revo
