Default No frills Razor race boat

Ok guys what do you think?

Finding the time to build it was almost as much of a challenge as building it! I still need to get push rods and seals, water/fuel lines and IV bag but I think everything I need fitted before disassembling for paint is installed.

Topsecret hardware
Toxic full mod 260 with 257 carb
Hanson pipe

Looks nice
You might want to shorten up the pipe a little. Looks like it is a little long. It should be around 11 1/2" measured from the manifold where it bolts to cylinder following down the center of the header to the pipe and to the belly of the pipe(widest part).
Let us know how she runs..

Good eye Tom! The pipe was set at 12 3/4", the max length I left on the header for tuning. I will take vids as soon as the ice is off

If I hadn't got such a good deal on the Hanson pipe I would have grabbed a NFS pipe...however the recently released Voodoo pipe with the 1" header looks pretty interesting too.

Really nice, clean build. Did it come with the rails fitted or did you add them to it?

Looking good either way edm.

Those Razors are fast monos. AC boats are top notch hulls. I do see one thing you might want to change and that is the reciever pack with the 4 AAAs. Seen to many lose contact on one of the cells. I would get a rechargeable enclosed pack. No worrying about one cell popping out and the connection being lost.

Juice -Thanks for the tip I think I will do that. Ive heard that a guy should connect the bat pack to a Y harness and power the receiver through a servo. Is that correct?

Glen - stringers come installed

Cheers EDM, and also for that photo, that's a good idea that would have stiffened up my deck nicely without a full bulkhead.

Still, every day's a school day.

Thanks for the nice comments guys !

Is hooking the battery pack to a Y harness and plugging into the receiver with the rudder servo the way to go? The idea i think is that it provides full power to the servo. I seen a post about it a while ago and can't find it [&o].

If you go with a five cell rechargeable pack(6v) you can use a Y-harness to get the full 6v to the servo which will increase the torque. Reason for the Y-harness is that most recievers will reduce the voltage back to 4.8v. Just plug the Y into the #1 channel and plug the battery in one side and the servo in the other.
