RE: piston and sleve
i found that a bit hard to understand, but the 3.3 is a size 20 engine or .20 of a cubic inch, and has 4 ports, 3 inlet and 1 exhaust that i seen when i took my engine apart last ( please correct me if i'm wrong though, i'm not 100% sure on the number of ports)

RE: piston and sleve
I've never heard of a "generic" piston and sleeve before and I've been messing with nitro engines since the late 60's. Sometimes the parts from one engine will fit another engine because they were made in the same factory and just labeled differently (like say the Mach and Sportwerks .26 engines for example) But I've never heard of anyone making parts that are just a "one-fits-all" kind of thing. In your case, I'm pretty sure a sleeve out of a .21 STS engine won't fit a 3.3. For one thing the STS will be a big block engine and the 3.3 is a small block. If the guy at your LHS is trying to tell you that they are compatable then I'd take your engine to him and get him to do the swap.
If you do go with the Picco Maxx then I hope you're at least a bit good with engines. The Picco is a good motor but is not the easiest engine for the inexperenced to master.

Traxxas TRX 3.3 engine is .20 cu in. If you want a cheap good performance engine, the RDLogics .21 or .25 engines might be a good choice. Here is the link:
